SU- Heliodor/Yellow Diamond (Headcanon 3)

While my last illustration of the Diamond Authority seems to be pretty popular, I've been wanting to redesign the trio since I've thought of a few new ideas for their concept since then. One of the biggest changes I thought of was modeling their bodies after the Gibson Girls (female characters created by Charles Dana Gibson between the 1890s-1920s who looked almost exactly the same) since they were considered some of the most beautiful women in their time, which would help reflect how diamonds are the most beautfiul of gemstones. I also wanted to mix their concepts up a little bit after seeing a few other interpretations of the authority online. However, this time I wanted to focus on each member individually & then do a new illustration with all three of them together. So, to start off, I began by using the only member of the authority that was mentioned in the series so far: Yellow Diamond. **SIDE NOTE**~ After seeing Sworn to the Sword, I've also decided to change Yellow Diamond's real name to Heliodor (which I will later explain why once I finish Blue & White Diamond's designs).

For the most part, I wanted Heliodor/Yellow Diamond to look less like a male Dragonball Z character & more like tough as nails dictator who rules the Gem Homeworld with an iron fist. Additionally, I was thinking of making her the smart member of the Diamond Authority to go along with Homeworld's technological advancements, as well as giving her a robot arm similar to Peridot's to show that she's adapted to modern Gem technology. Plus, it would give a similar feeling to when someone loses an arm during a war. When redesigning her, I tried to mainly base her off of Napoleon Bonaparte and Satsuki Kiriyuin, though her crown is partly modeled off of Fidel Castro's hat.I also added the chakra point gems from White Diamond's design and made them look like they were part of Heliodor/Yellow Diamond's outfit/uniform.

Personality: As previously mentioned, Heliodor/Yellow Diamond is a cold and ruthless warrior who always looks for the most logical solutions. Being highly intelligent and a master strategist, she's able to plan out any battle down to the tiniest detail, being able to predict almost everyone of her opponent's moves. Whatever she can't plan, she improvises by assessing the situation and analyzing her enemies in the middle of battle. Her greatest values include hard work, diligence, & preserving the integrity of Gemkind, though she's so obsessed with her work that she can put her goals above the safety and well-being of other Gems. She spends most of her time training due to her constant desire to become stronger, believing that no one is perfect and that you constantly have to strive for the best in order to be the best. She also supports and pushes the advancement of Gem technology, believing that striving for the future is absolutely necessary to achieve victory over your adversaries. In fact, shortly before the Gems arrived on Earth, she created a group of service Gems that served military commanders known as the Pearl units.

Weapon: Heliodor/Yellow Diamond's weapon is a sword with the handle of a saber and the blade of a zanbato club. Aside from using it in standard combat, she can use it to slice through solid steel and blow gusts of wind that can knock down entire armies.

Powers & Abilities: Like the rest of the authority, Heliodor/Yellow Diamond has the ability to shoot beams from her main gem known as Prism Blasts, which refract light waves into a powerful laser beam. She also has a unique ability called Analytical Vision, in which her mind acts like a super computer  and calculate solutions to any situation in a matter of seconds. It works similar to Garnet's future vision, only it helps figure out solutions in the present rather than show her possible outcomes for the future. Additionally, she has a special technique that only a handful of Gems are able to learn. Similar to acupuncture and the chi blocking technique from Avatar, Heliodor/Yellow Diamond can identify certain pressure points in a gemstone and puncture them in order to effect a Gem's physical form. This could range from making the form unstable, corrupting it, and causing the Gem to release their form entirely without being able to regenerate for a short period of time.

Quick Note: PLEASE STOP POSTING HOW THIS ISN'T WHAT YELLOW DIAMOND LOOKS LIKE, OR PICTURES OF WHAT SHE ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE! I know this isn't the accurate depiction, but I created this design long before the full version of the Steven Universe opening was released. I know this isn't the real Yellow Diamond, but this was just my idea of what she might look like before we got a glimpse of her true form
