Quick Note: PLEASE STOP POSTING HOW THIS ISN'T WHAT YELLOW DIAMOND LOOKS LIKE, OR PICTURES OF WHAT SHE ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE! I know this isn't the accurate depiction, but I created these designs long before the full version of the Steven Universe opening was released. I know this isn't the real Yellow Diamond, but this was just my idea of what she might look like before we got a glimpse of her true form

After looking at the mural from “Serious Steven“ again, I decided to revamp my “Yellow Diamond“ headcanon and created this new illustration showing my interpretation of the entire diamond authority. While they’re seen as the polar opposite of Rose Quartz (cold, relentless, and uncaring for other forms of life), each of them have their own unique powers and abilities as well:
- White Diamond- As the smartest member of the trio, she seems to have powers of both crystalkinesis and telekinesis. She’s able to levitate any objects and has the ability to control and manipulate and minerals around and crush them into the purest white diamonds that can be used as a number of different weapons. Also, when her telekinetic powers are fully heightened, she seems to have the ability to control other Gems. Unlike her sisters (or sisterin since Gems don’t aren’t related by blood), she doesn’t show as many emotions and only focuses on completing her goals. The diamonds on her body (aside from the one on top of her crown) are all based on the chakra points, showing that she’s a fully enlightened Gem and is completely connected to her aura. Her hands and feet are also made out of diamonds.
- Yellow Diamond- The strongest of the authority, Yellow Diamond is the military tactician of the Gem Homeworld and she is responsible for monitoring the squadrons that travel to Gem controlled planets in order to activate the Kindergartens. Her powers mostly consist of super strength and invincibility, though she’s able to absorb sunlight through the diamonds on her body so that she can shoot fiery beams of light from her main gem and the curved diamond on the center of her crown. She enjoys the thrill of fighting and, while she’s normally an act first and ask questions later kind of Gem, she always tries to strategize her battles so that she always comes off as the victor. Her biggest design references would include Ares (the God of War) & Perfect Cell from Dragonball Z (though I admit that she visually ended up looking more like Broly).
- Blue Diamond (Originally Yellow Diamond)- The most passionate and ambitious of the trio, Blue Diamond may come off as cold, sadistic, and intimidating. She also seems to have a big ego, enjoys toying with her opponents, and normally acts nonchalant while giving off a feeling of elegance and grace. However, when she gets too upset, Blue Diamond lets off her full emotions and goes into extreme fits of rage, unafraid to completely wipe out anyone or anything that stands in her way. Her abilities are similar to ice powers since she can be able to morph and manipulate the diamonds around her body so that they act like ice. She can be able shoot diamond shards at her opponent or she can morph diamonds into a suit of armor that can change into a variety of weapons. As I mentioned before, several of her references include the White Witch, Maleficent, Frieza, & Vegeta.
